How We Plan Our Interventions and Monitor Our Results

KingsFisher assessments provide us with ‘windows into the brain’ in REAL TIME. With our unique approach at the KingsFisher Institute, we assess and monitor functional abilities related to our auditory, visual, and cognitive brain functions. These often reveal undetected, underlying difficulties that hamper and delay development and progress, frequently not identified through standard assessments.

Cognitive Skill Assessment

We assess the brain-based skills needed for reading, spelling, learning and problem solving, which includes concentration and attention. These Foundational Learning Skills include visual and auditory abilities, revealing what is deficient and how this links to poor academic performance.

Tomatis® Listening Profile

Unlike a hearing test, we assess the listening ability, checking  how the brain receives, processes and interprets auditory information. We can tell if recurring ear infections, glue ear and grommets may have hampered sound transmission to the brain, and how this relates to learning difficulties.

Visagraph™ Reading Profile

The KingsFisher Institute is the only centre in New Zealand that can perform this assessment.
Unlike an eye test, the Visagraph™ measures eye movements whilst reading including comprehension. It reveals the hidden hurdles in poor reading efficiency.
