How would you like us to help?

At the KingsFisher Institute our passion is to restore and optimise brain function
and to improve your health, general well-being and quality of life.

Our Vision is Releasing the Champion Within
We recognise that each person has been created with a unique ability and skill,
so we work together to maximise their potential to achieve these goals.

Over the years we have researched the best programmes in the world and use these in combination to maximise the benefit to those who come to us for help. By embracing the brain's neuroplasticity, we utilise unique development programmes that enable the re-wiring of neural pathways to enhance and restore brain function. All our programmes are designed to enhance and increase learning potential, academic ability and performance in all age groups.

Overcome Reading and Learning Difficulties

Learning disabilities are not related to your intelligence. They are neurologically based processing problems affecting many.

Learning difficulties may affect:

  • Individuals with Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia, Visual or Auditory Processing Disorders (APD), Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD or ADHD), Autism (ASD) & Asperger’s and others
  • Adults with cognitive decline

Effective Listening and Communication

Auditory processing disorder (APD) is a listening dysfunction, an inability of the brain to process the meaning of sounds.

APD may be due to:

  • Chronic ear infections leading to glue ear and grommets resulting in poor academic performance
  • Learning difficulties
  • Hearing loss or hearing difficulties
  • Concussion or head trauma
  • Other brain disorders

Improve Motor Skills and Reduce the Risk of Falls

Good motor skills stimulate cognitive development, irrespective of age.
It means having good balance and possibly falling less.

How do I recognise this?

  • Clumsy, bumps into others, frequent falls, difficulty sitting still
  • Developmental delays
  • Dysgraphia, untidy handwriting or poor letter formation
  • Travel sickness or nausea related to movement

Improve Functional Capability and Quality of Life

Brain injury symptoms reduce productivity and quality of life, preventing return to work or sport.

Some symptoms are:

  • Headaches and migraines
  • Fatigue
  • A short ‘fuse’ and moodiness
  • Learning difficulties
  • Sleep disturbances and insomnia
  • Anxiety and depression

Calmer and More Confident

Emotional Dysregulation is an inability to manage the intensity and duration of negative emotions.

Emotional dysregulation behaviours might be:

  • Meltdowns
  • Bursts of anger
  • Crying and/or accusing
  • Passive - aggressive behaviours
  • Creating chaos or conflict

Sharpen Your Brain for Better Recall, Faster

Attention allows us to “tune out” irrelevant stuff, while cognitive alertness improves memory recall.

Difficulties may include:

  • Forgetfulness
  • Easily distracted
  • Words ‘just on the tip of the tongue’, unable to recall them
  • Lack of concentration
  • Mental fog or cloudy thinking

Leadership, Enrich Your Voice, Learn a New Language

Jumpstart your creativity to achieve your goals, enrich your voice for speeches
and singing, master English or learn a
new language

Your ears are the key to success as they determine:

  • Cortical arousal for motivation
  • The richness of your voice
  • Correct pronunciation
  • Your vocal range and pitch
  • ‘Tuning’ your brain to the rhythm and frequency of a language

Relaxed and Better Prepared

Language and communication start in the womb. High frequencies in the mother’s voice stimulate the development of the baby’s brain and nervous system.

Stressful pregnancies may cause:

  • Poor bonding with baby
  • Premature delivery
  • A negative impact on baby’s neurological development that may lead to learning difficulties, auditory processing disorder or a delay in motor development

Neuroplastic Restoration via your Vagus Nerve

Chronic stress wears down our defences, causes illness and impairs cognitive function. PTSD robs us of  healthy, satisfying relationships.

Typical stress signs/behaviours are:

  • Headaches and muscle tension
  • Comfort eating or loss of appetite
  • Ricocheting or intrusive thoughts
  • Relying on more coffee, energy drinks or sugar to keep going
  • Reactive anger and impulsivity
Image of brain waves

Our brains receive around 80% of all sensory stimulation through our ears

The ear is the most powerful sensory integrator of the human body. More than 80% of the stimulation our brain receives comes from our ears. On one hand it has a major role in the cerebral stimulation of the brain, and on the other hand it has a positive action on the cerebral plasticity of the brain. This explains the importance of our ears in connecting with the brain, making them an effective pathway for intervention in many different fields.
